The first ever Snowbasin Nordic Challenge was held under snowy skies on President's Day February 15, 2010 on the Nordic Ski Trails at Snowbasin Resort.  Snowbasin worked past 1am on Sunday night to manicure the roughly 5k loop course for perfect, hard packed corduroy on Monday morning.  They came back in the morning only to find their masterpiece covered with a blanket of new Utah powder.  Race organizers worked together with Snowbasin early Monday morning to continue marking the course and setting fences but in the end it was a group of tough racers who had to square off not only against each other but also against 6 inches of powder in a race that one of our top skiers respectfully nicknamed "A V1 trudge fest".

Congratulations to ALL of the competitors who participated in the race.  A sincere THANKS goes out from all of us at Ogden Nordic and all of the race organizers to the competitors, volunteers, and sponsors who made our first big race in Northern Utah such a success.  It was also a great accomplishment that our event also raised >$10,000 for Hospitalito Atitlan, a hospital in Guatemala that was buried in a mud slide.
