Progress drafting and creating a Master Plan for Northfork continues.  A multi-user group including Ogden Nordic,Ogden Valley Pathways, Weber Pathways, The Utah Back Country Horseman, the Cycling Sub-Committee of Ogden, and the USFS have been working with Weber County to study, evaluate, and propose a 4 season trail system capable of accommodating the majority of non-motorized users.  Last September the group began building trail sections A and B.  This news is well received by all users.

The Master Plan also calls for a warming hut at the trail head and a yurt out in the trail system.  These will be great additions to the park and will offer visitors some warm and welcoming points of interest. 

We have a commitment from the USFS to donate their forest products demonstration building as the warming hut. This building was created for the Olympics.  Since this time the Forest Service has desired to find a partner that could manage it near forest lands.  So, Ogden Nordic has offered to include it in the overall plan.  We have been working with Weber County to find an appropriate location in the park that will suit all visitors and meet the overall intent of the plan and the building.
