Our mission is to promote the sport of cross country skiing in the Ogden Area through information, facilitation, coaching, events, and social gatherings.
Our primary goal continues to be facilitation of a good Nordic Venue for the Ogden Area. Currently we are focused on the creation of a "Notable" venue in Weber County's North-fork Park. This park is well suited for great skiing from November to April and has 20 km of trails. Situated on the North side of Ben Lomand mountain at an elevation of 6,000 feet, this park holds great snow and is quite scenic. By working with Weber County, our dedicated sponsors, the pathways organizations, Swanson's Environmental Center and The Utah Nordic Alliance, we are creating a sustainable venue where the gliding, the grooming, and over all experience is great all season long.
Our second goal is to promote and facilitate community participation in the sport of Nordic Skiing. By providing coaching and instruction opportunities through our Junior programs and by hosting community events such as "The Moonlight Glide" we hope to enable skiers with improved skills, and a community of active skiers. Come on out and get to know the snow, those "Skinny Skis", and your neighborhood Nordic group. Watch out... you just might enjoy it!
Our third goal is to foster cooperation and collaboration with other trail advocates in the greater Ogden Area. By working together we can facilitate the enhancement of Nordic opportunities in the Winter, and the hiking, biking, running, opportunities in the Summer. A significant part of this effort is to capture the voice of the Nordic community. So, please send your thoughts, ideas, and concerns, so that we can formulate an encompassing approach. Our desire is to regularly represent this voice to the agencies responsible for our public lands.
