Dear Ogden Nordic Community,
Thank you for being part of one of the premier cross country ski resorts in the state. We are hopeful that another great year of snow will blanket northern Utah, both for skiing and for Utah’s water needs.
Some details for you this year:
A significant change for 2013-2014 Season Pass holders is the requirement for volunteer hours to gain access to the Nordic Center during off-hours. As in previous years, all users of the park will have access to the Nordic Center Thursday thru Sunday, 9am - 4pm. For Season Pass holders to receive a code to access the Nordic Center during non-business hours, we are requiring two (2) hours of volunteer service per pass holder, or four (4) hours total for a family pass. For example, a family of two would need to volunteer two hours each, or one member of the family can volunteer all four hours. This can be done by one, some, or all of the family members. When volunteer hours are completed, you will receive the combination to the Nordic Center and will have attained “O’Nordic Member” status.
We have plenty of preseason opportunities waiting, including trail work, sign hanging, and installing course signage. We will make every opportunity to accommodate Ogden Nordic Season Pass holders’ schedules, as we really do need the extra help to keep operations running smoothly and keep our fees down.
Volunteer dates thus far are;
October 30 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM – Meet at Nordic Center for trail trimming.
November 2 from 2 – 4 pm – Meet at Nordic Center for trail trimming.
November 8 from 10 am - 12 noon. Meet at Nordic Center to help move skis and organize Nordic center.
November 23 from 10 – 12 noon. Meet at Nordic Center for trail trimming or work around Nordic Center.
Further work will be posted on Facebook and emails will be sent to you in this regard. If you have any questions regarding this new change, or any other Ogden Nordic issue, please contact me directly.
As in previous years, all Season Pass holders will continue to receive a 50-percent discount on gear rental.
We look forward to seeing you on the trails brought to you by Ogden Nordic in cooperation with Weber County Parks.
President, Ogden Nordic
